In 2013 I took a couple of different drives: I went to Lake City one day, and over Owl Creek Pass another. I also did a quick trip over McClure Pass on my way back from Glenwood Springs one weekend. As beautiful as the second year was, it didn't compare to the first year. I'm not sure if timing was off or what, although either way, the drives were still worth it and everything about the gorgeous Rocky Mountains was still beautiful.
I'll be honest, this year was hard. I was busy, busy, busy in late September through mid-October. However, I did manage to squeeze one day in during early October where Scott and I drove Kebler Pass - a drive I've been wanting to do for a few years now. Beginning in Paonia and ending in Crested Butte, Kebler Pass is known specifically as one of the best locations for viewing aspen trees. Just like last year, unfortunately the leaves weren't quite at their peak (surprisingly there was actually still a lot of green out!), but also just like last year it was still a gorgeous day in the mountains, and I loved exploring a new pass that I hadn't been over yet!
So without further ado, I will let my pictures tell the story of our drive over Kebler Pass on October 4th, 2014 (note - there's a lot of pictures of "just trees" because I was having a blast with my new wide angle lens):
